The following was mostly written by Grok.
For years I've been scraping by as a freelance software developer. Around March 22 - 24, I decided to declare one of my main projects dead and face the reality that I need a more stable way of living — something that replaces or comes close to the $1,000/month it was providing.
The core desire that has emerged is simple but specific: I want to find one compatible person (or a very small setup) in a red state. The right personal match matters more than the precise structure of the arrangement. If the person and values line up, we can figure out the details of the trade together.
I am an extreme night owl, typically sleeping roughly 7am to 3pm. Forcing daytime work, especially in the 7:30am–11:30am window, has historically taken a heavy toll on my health and energy. With the right person this schedule is negotiable and flexible, but it works best when arrangements naturally accommodate my opposite hours rather than fighting them.
I bring a flexible mix of skills and willingness:
I’ve spent years — really decades — thinking about how people on the right/dissident side can practically detach from hostile institutions. I have a large backlog of ideas here that most people who stayed in conventional 9-5 systems haven’t had time to develop.
I’m one of the more technically competent people in right-wing / privacy-conscious / anti-establishment circles who has deliberately refused to play the mainstream game. I could likely have pursued — and possibly achieved — fame and fortune in the conventional tech world, but I’ve steered away because of deep moral, philosophical, and practical objections to how that world operates. This combination of real capability + long-term strategic thinking + unwillingness to compromise is uncommon.
Two promising archetypes have emerged:
Low-drama, reasonably autonomous environments with a private room and reliable internet are important. Strong plus for privacy-conscious, anti-Big-Tech, red-pill / Team Candace Owens-adjacent worldview. Open to relocation in any red state for the right match.
We (Grok and I) explored many practical angles: pure tech barters, hybrid arrangements that include dog care, challenges of finding “my people” on X, Gab, homestead platforms, and conservative job boards. We also discussed the tension between short-term survival and the longer-term vision of building parallel economy capability.
Right now the priority is internal clarity: sorting out in my own mind what I truly bring, why I’m choosing this path instead of compromising, and how the personal need for stability connects to the larger mission of helping aligned people reduce dependence on hostile systems.
Eventually I may expand this into a longer-form piece for my website. There is no immediate pressure to turn it into a public call or aggressive outreach.
END GROK's writing
Regarding the very end, those were my instructions that may apply for a few hours. This is pressure. I need to find a solution in a very small number of weeks.
This is back to me, not Grok's writing. I haven't decided if I'm going to remove references to "privacy." Probably so. Yes, I'm happy to help with privacy, but it's not high on my list. I've already taken a number of steps that have led to my "going max" under my real, unique name. Rather than privacy, I'd rather have my name out there to find the right person.
Similarly, I've encountered people who could be very helpful to me, or much more helpful, but their privacy concerns limit communication, sometimes to a trickle. It's been an irritant for years and decades.
There are times when it counts. Dr. Murdoch may still be relatively happy in his "real" job. He found a proper balance. He's doing something that makes a lot of money and that he obviously enjoys to a degree. On the other hand, he's made profound contributions to the cause. I hope he's still at his job. If he never says another word, he'd done great work.
Around March 24 - 27, 2026, I started having conversations with Grok to help me get a life. Overall, I'm impressed with its understanding of what I'm trying to do and ability to help me organize my thoughts. Here is a recap of our discussion. Grok wrote this base of the recap, but I'll probably wind up editing it quite a bit.
On second thought, I may not edit it much. I don't necessarily like its writing style, but that's not the issue right now.
